The first question answered here is whether the ability to regenerate from damage via released protoplasts is unique to Bryopsis, and the answer appears to be a large “NO”.

Swarmers?!?!

Unfortunately the study doesn’t include any variations on nutrients or other parameters aside from light that would make it even more interesting for us, but read the rest of the article anyway  – it’s good!!
